Define completeness
Specify the expected population and the checks that show it is complete. Record counts, control totals and period coverage can help reveal a missing or partial feed. Choose checks that reflect the business process.
Agree responsibility
Clarify who owns source data, mappings, scheduling, destination configuration and exception resolution. An integration issue can cross several teams even when the visible symptom appears in one finance application.
Design for recovery
Decide how failed or partial runs will be identified and replayed. Consider duplicate prevention and the evidence needed to understand whether the destination contains the expected data.
Test the business cycle
Test the integration through the cycle it supports, including the relevant close or forecast activity. A successful technical response alone does not show that the finance team can complete its process.
